How We Will Measure Success During Evaluations
As we prepare for the upcoming hockey evaluations, we wanted to provide you with some important information regarding what we'll be evaluating and how we'll measure success during the process. Our goal is to ensure a fair, positive, and productive experience for all players involved.

This includes:

Opportunity to Showcase Skills: Every player will have the chance to demonstrate their skills during drills and games, allowing us to assess their core abilities (Skating, Passing, Shooting)

Observation of Effort and Attitude: We'll be closely observing each player's effort and attitude both on and off the ice. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential qualities we look for in our players.

Positive Experience: It's important to us that all players have a positive experience during evaluations, both on and off the ice. We want everyone to feel supported, encouraged, and valued throughout the process.

Coachability: We'll be assessing players' coachability, looking for opportunities to observe communication, teamwork, and response to coaching instructions.

Positional Evaluation: Players will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills at their primary position. We will also look for opportunities to evaluate players in other positions to assess versatility, adaptability, and response to playing in a different situation.

Challenging Situations: Players will face challenges such as battling against higher-skilled opponents and making decisions in various game situations.  This will allow us to evaluate their decision-making abilities, situational awareness and response to challenges.

In our decisions, we'll be mindful of many factors. Our goal is to provide the best opportunities for growth and development for all players involved.

It's important to note that while skill proficiency is crucial, we'll also be evaluating players based on their attitude, work ethic, and ability to work as part of a team. Hockey is not only about individual talent but also about teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

During evaluations, players should give their best effort, stay focused, and demonstrate a positive attitude regardless of the outcome. Remember that evaluations are just one part of the journey, and every player has the opportunity to learn, improve, and contribute to the team.

As coaches we will do our best to provide real-time feedback to allow players to learn and improve quickly during the process, but please understand our opportunities may be limited to do so in the limited time frame we have available to evaluate.

If you have any questions or concerns leading up to evaluations, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to support both players and parents throughout the process.

Thank you for your attention, and we look forward to a successful experience for everyone!

Sponsors
The Kitchener Rangers
Our hometown heros, The Kitchener Rangers, return for the 19th year as the official sponsor of ALL of KMHA's Lady Ranger & Jr. Ranger teams! Thanks for your support & LET'S GO RANGERS! Through a partnership agreement with Sunlife of Canada, the Rangers also support DONNA'S KIDS through their KIDS IN GEAR CAMPAIGN!
Sun Life Kids In Gear
Donna's Kids is pleased to partner again for 2019/2020 season with Sun Life and their Kids In Gear program. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association, as part of their mandate, provides financial support for children in this community who, without our assistance, would not be afforded the opportunity to participate in organized hockey in the City of Kitchener. Monies for this cause have been donated by various individuals and organizations over the years, however with increasing demands we have the need to provide further support for this program. One hundred per cent of the funds raised by KIDS IN GEAR are channelled directly to purchase equipment for children.
SCHERER Chevrolet Buick GMC
SCHERER CHEVROLET BUICK GMC has grown to be one of the most successful automotive dealerships in the country and as such is a PROUD 3RD YEAR sponsor of KMHA. Please stop by their dealership, located at 1225 COURTLAND AVE. E, KITCHENER, and speak with one of their representatives today or call at 519-893-8888.
Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR. A RANGERS. Tim Horton's once again sponsor's our 40 entry level HL teams this year.
